Private Sewing Lesson (1 Hour)

Have a specific sewing project in mind but want an expert guide by your side? Or perhaps you’re stuck mid-project and need help figuring out the next steps? This hands-on, one-on-one private lesson is completely tailored to your personal goals, giving you the dedicated attention you need to create with confidence.

What We Can Work On:

• New Projects: Starting a fresh project using a commercial pattern.

• Troubleshooting & Next Steps: Getting unstuck on tricky techniques like inserting zippers, finishing necklines, or understanding pattern instructions.

• Upcycling: Working from an existing garment to recreate a favorite look or make structural modifications.

  • Please note: If you are using an existing garment as your template/pattern, you must be comfortable completely taking that garment apart during the process.

This is a project-construction and technique class. This is not a pattern drafting class, and we will not be drafting custom patterns from scratch. All projects must be worked from a commercial pattern or an existing garment.

Planning Your Sessions

Every sewing project is unique, and sewing is a beautiful journey that shouldn’t be rushed! To ensure you get the absolute best results, please keep in mind that you may need to book multiple sessions depending on the complexity of your project and your personal working pace.

What to Bring:

• Your sewing machine, power cord, and foot pedal.

• Your project fabric, matching thread, and your commercial pattern or existing garment. Make sure whatever item you are bringing is freshly washed and ready to go so you can jump right into fitting and sewing.

• Your favorite basic sewing notions (scissors, pins, fabric markers, etc.)

  • We have a selection of standard sewing notions available for you to use during your time in the classroom. However, if you plan on leaving pins in your project between sessions, you will need to bring them with you or purchase some in store.
