Quilting Studio Associate
Help Shape the Future of Quilting at Millard Sewing!
Millard Sewing Center is looking for a friendly, dependable, and detail-oriented Quilting Studio Associate to join our growing team. This is a unique opportunity to help launch and grow our expanding quilting studio, including customer quilting services, longarm rentals, educational programs, and machine demonstrations.
This position is expected to begin soon as we complete exciting new additions to our quilting department. If you’re available sooner, you’ll have the opportunity to become part of our retail team by assisting customers, cutting fabric, merchandising, and learning our products while helping prepare for the studio’s launch.
Whether you’re an experienced quilter or simply passionate about learning, we’re looking for someone who enjoys helping people and takes pride in producing quality work.
What You’ll Do
As our Quilting Studio Associate, your responsibilities will grow as the department expands.
During the Initial Phase
- Assist customers with fabrics, notions, and sewing supplies.
- Cut fabric and maintain a clean, organized sales floor.
- Learn our products, quilting supplies, and sewing machine lineup.
- Become familiar with our quilting services and studio procedures.
- Help prepare for the launch of our expanding quilting programs.
As the Studio Grows
- Assist with customer quilt intake.
- Learn to operate our professional longarm quilting systems.
- Help customers using our longarm rental program.
- Demonstrate quilting equipment and accessories.
- Support quilting classes, events, and educational programs.
- Become an important part of our growing quilting community.
We’re Looking For Someone Who…
- Enjoys helping customers.
- Has a positive attitude and works well with a team.
- Takes pride in quality work and attention to detail.
- Is dependable and willing to learn new skills.
- Has sewing or quilting experience (preferred).
- Has longarm quilting experience (a plus, but not required).
- Accepts coaching and enjoys continually improving.

Compensation: Competitive hourly pay based on experience, with opportunities for increased responsibility as the quilting department grows.
Location: Oak View Mall
Position: Full-Time
Schedule: Retail hours, including some Saturdays & Sundays

To ensure you are rewarded for your expertise, compensation is structured as a percentage of the class cost. We take care of the logistics by providing the facilities and necessary materials, allowing you to focus entirely on what you do best: inspiring the next generation of creators.
