We’re kicking off our fall season with a new lineup of group classes, and we’re thrilled to continue our partnership with Prym + Dritz to bring you innovative, stylish projects you’ll love to make and use. Whether you’re a beginner ready for your next big win, or an experienced sewist looking for a satisfying weekend project, we’ve designed this class to be fun and informative for everyone.
This November, we’re diving into the world of home décor and organization with our Fabric Storage Box Class! These sturdy, structured boxes are the perfect solution for tidying up in style this fall. Imagine adding a pop of color and pattern to your kids’ room, craft room, or sewing studio—all while keeping clutter neatly contained.
In this demonstration-focused class, we will be constructing a versatile 8″ x 8″ storage box. The real value, though, is the technique you’ll learn! You’ll receive a detailed worksheet that teaches you the math and measurements, allowing you to easily calculate the dimensions for any size box you need—from tiny notions containers to large laundry totes.
This project shines because of its professional finish, thanks to our partners. We’ll show you how to layer your fabric—like using a vibrant print for the exterior and a smooth Riley Blake Confetti Cotton for a clean lining—to achieve a beautiful result.
The true highlight of this class is adding the finishing touches: you’ll get hands on experience using the reliable Prym Vario Tool to cleanly and easily punch holes through all layers of your project. You’ll also be adding a faux leather handle from Dritz to your fabric box to complete the look.
This class is all about learning fundamental construction skills that transfer to other bag and box projects, plus mastering the professional application of hardware. This project is as much fun to display as it is to make!
We’ll walk you through every step, ensuring you leave with a fantastic, functional box and the skills to make a whole set at home!
