If this treadle happens to look a bit more modern than most of them that you have seen that’s because it is. The Singer model 404 cabinet was around in the late 1950’s as an option for those that still preferred or needed pedal power but wanted a new sewing cabinet. With so many people using the electric options at this point, it’s no wonder than these are as rare as they are. This particular example does have issues with the veneer in spots.
