Remove Your Vintage Sewing Machine

Step 1:
Always start by unplugging the machine from the wall.
Step 2:
Look for any wires that are hard wired through the cabinet. If there are, these will need to be addressed before you can remove the machine.
Step 3:
Next tilt the machine back on its hinges as far as you can. You will see two set screws (usually 1/4" flat heads). Loosen those screws as shown in the picture below.
Step 4:
Once you have these screws loose, the machine can now be lifted off of the studs and is free of the cabinet
Installation is the reverse of removal
A handy trick is to use a rubber band at the base of the two studs to hold them together in the upright position as you set the machine down on them. Make sure you tighten your set screws before folding the machine away!
