Woven Fabrics

Woven fabrics are created on a loom by interlacing two sets of straight threads—the vertical warp and the horizontal weft—in a criss-cross grid pattern. Because these threads are tightly woven over and under one another, woven fabrics (like canvas, linen, and quilting cotton) are inherently stable, structurally crisp, and do not stretch unless they are cut on a diagonal angle or blended with elastic fibers.
